8 Gift Ideas For Anyone On Your List

Wether you’re looking for your Grandma or your best friend, finding the perfect gift for someone can be overwhelming at times. In theory, the internet makes gift shopping easy, but theres also a lot more potential gift ideas to sort through now. Hopefully these few gift ideas making finding the perfect gift a little bit easier.

1. Beck’s new album, Song Reader.

This gift is really cool for the music lover in your life. Beck’s newest album is made up of only sheet music and you get to decide how it sounds. You can even go to Beck’s website and upload your versions of his songs.

2. Smart wool socks.

While this isn’t necessarily a huge gift, it is a practical one. Everyone needs a pair of really nice, warm socks. Smart wool socks can be a little bit pricey and maybe not something that someone would splurge on and buy themselves, however, it’s a perfect stocking stuffer or small gift idea.

3. A record player.

Vinyl is really coming back into vogue. A record player is a great gift for anyone who loves music on your list. It’s something that the person may not know they need, but once they get one, they’ll wonder how they lived without it.

4. A polaroid printer for your smartphone.

With this device you can turn any photo you take on your phone into a polaroid in minutes. Polaroid camera’s are really cool, but you’re stuck with whatever picture you get and buying polaroid film can get pricy. This way you can pick and choose what pictures get turned into polaroids, but you still get the cool look of a polaroid picture.

5. A lightsaber.

You can actually buy some pretty realistic light sabers nowadays. ultrasabers.com is one of the leading makers of life like lightsabers. They aren’t cheap, but they’re definitely pretty cool. This is a guaranteed hit with the Star Wars lover on your list.

6. First year of an online subscription.

Whether it’s netflix, amazon prime, hulu, or spotify premium, a free year of any of these would be well received by nearly anyone. It’s an easy enough gift that in the long run wouldn’t cost you too much money, but will bring loads of entertainment to whoever receives it.

7. A donation to a charity in their name.

If the person you're looking for literally has everything, or they really don't want or need anything but you still want to do something for them, this is a perfect gift that also helps others. Rather than getting a gift for someone, just take the amount that you were going to give them and donate it to their favorite charity in their name.

8. A puppy.

I think everyone has secretly always wanted to receive a puppy for Christmas. Obviously make sure that the person receiving the puppy genuinely wants one, but if they do, what a great Christmas gift.

Hopefully this list gave you a few ideas for that special someone, but just remember, they'll love their gift no matter what because it's from you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
