Why I Love Concerts

Concerts aren't a waste of money, despite what your parents may say. Venues may be your "home" and your parents just don't understand that. Music is powerful, artists are powerful, and the friends you make at these concerts.. well, they're just amazing people with great music taste. I hate being told that I'm "wasting" my money by going to so many concerts, I love supporting smaller bands, their tickets only cost between $10-$20 anyways so, instead of going out to dinner, I go out and support local bands. There are so many reasons why concerts are amazing, here's just a few.

1. Your concert friends may be your friends for life.

I was more thrilled than I actually look in this photo. Olivia and I met our Freshman year of high school at a concert for a band called Hollywood Ending (who are no longer together sadly). We just finished our Freshman year at college.. at the same college as each other. We still go to concerts together and it's always a fun time. Seriously, the friends you make at concerts can very well be your friends for the rest of your life.

2. You travel to new states/cities.

My friend Sara and I traveled four hours from New Jersey to Rhode Island to attend the Emo Is Back tour in May. The Emo Is Back tour also played 10 minutes away from our college too but, we wanted to adventure for four hours and see all the bands two days in a row.

3. You see your favorite bands again, and again.

I've been supporting my friend Richie for about four years now, when you truly do like a band, you can see them a million times and never get sick of them. Plus you may occasionally hear songs that band hasn't even released yet!

4. You're surrounded by people who love the same music as you.

There's no better feeling than looking around and seeing a crowd smiling and singing along to songs that you all share a love for. Everyone in that room has a strong connection with one and another through that artist they're seeing.

Concerts aren't a waste of money. Go buy that ticket and go have fun seeing someone you adore. Go lose your voice by screaming the lyrics all night long, and most importantly, go make some concert friends. Those few hours at a concert, create memories for a life time, enjoy it, concerts go by way too fast.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
