As I was scrolling through Instagram, the usual sponsored ads pop up and I couldn't help but look into this one. The handle is @thefabstory. I was intrigued by one of the pictures. It was an illustration titled "Best Morning Routine Recipe." It has nine cute little pictures with little captions: a picture of a list and under it, "write your to-do list the night before," a picture of a pillow and "get a good night's sleep," a picture of eggs and bacon and "have breakfast" etc.
All of these pictures motivated me to try out the "recipe," and see if it's a success. I will admit, I'm pretty on top of my morning routine with waking up early, exercising, making breakfast, and being productive, but I wanted a little more discipline. I tried out writing my to-do list the night before, being consistent and preparing to be productive. It's now week two and I'm happier than I have been in a while.
I knew some things that would help me to be successful, but my problem is establishing them in my daily life, and really putting them into practice. This app has eased me into establishing the routine one goal at a time and slowly implementing more goals as I begin to conquer the first ones. Aside from morning routines, they have afternoon and evening ones as well.
There are habits that range from exercising three times a week to meditating for ten minutes to stretching and hydrating more. There are so many and the whole point of this is to practice self-care. I will say when I get to check off the box for drinking water right when I wake up there is a psychological feeling of accomplishment that makes me want to be consistent in this routine.
It doesn't just tell you what to do, it gives you the freedom to choose which habits and goals you want to establish and a video with the scientific reasoning why it is good for you. So, if you're someone who needs a reason to do something, that resource is very helpful. If you want to check out their Instagram before installing, I promise you, it'll motivate you to better yourself and implement healthy routines.
It is $50/year, however, you get a week to try it for free and you can cancel before it charges you. I truly believe that this app is changing how productive I am and helps me not to get overwhelmed. This is the one Instagram ad that I am actually happy to have seen!
