10 Reasons Every College Student Is Itching For Summer Break

We get those few days of warmth in March, and suddenly remember how great it feels to have the sun soaking into our faces. Its the home stretch for classes and daydreaming of summer days begin. Here are 10 reasons we are craving summer, in all of its beauty.

1. Lack of responsibilities

It's like music to my ears. Summer means little to no school work. It means finding that great book to read on the beach.

2. Warm days have blessed us

We have been teased with the few warm days that spring has to offer us and the need for that summer sun is real.

3. Sick and tired of the cold

There is no better feeling than leaving the house in a bathing suit, sundress, and flip flops. Having to put on a gazillion layers to leave the house is getting old.

4. PALE.

The worst effect that winter throws at us. Being tan is one of the summer's many attributes. There is also no better feeling than taking a shower after the beach and admiring those tan lines.

5. Friends from home

It has been a long school year. We only see our lifetime friends over breaks and sporadic trips to each other's colleges. It's about time we get together with friends from home to blast music in the car and belt at the top of our lungs with the windows down.

6. Being home

As wonderful as college life is, it is always the best feeling to go back to the place you grew up and adore.

7. The beach

If you are lucky enough to live close to a beach, spending the entire day in the ocean is something much needed while we drown in dreaded school projects and exams.

8. BBQ's & Bonfires

Nothing compares to those family & friend BBQ's with hotdogs, macaroni salad, and lemonade. Then to end the night with a bonfire in your favorite sweatshirt, listening to Springsteen.

9. Sunlight until 8 PM

It is exhausting when the sun is setting at 5 PM. Now that the sun has graced us with a couple more hours of sunlight, moods have been lifted!

10. Summer concerts

All I can say is... Stone Pony Summer Stage. If you live within driving distance to Asbury Park, take the trek. It is worth it!

Buckle in. We only have a little over a month left of classes and then we are FREE!!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
