This summer, it seems like everything is full of color. From eye-catching coral to sunny yellow, bright colors are all the rage in summer fashion and otherwise. To balance out all of those hues, neutrals are necessary. That's why, in my opinion, the ultimate color of summer isn't a color - it's simply white.
The "color" white isn't actually a color, though. According to Merriam-Webster, "white" is defined as being "free from color." However, when in the form of a flowy summer dress or a pair of platform sandals, white IS a color, and a beautiful one at that.
White may not be a color, according to Merriam-Webster, but it doesn't lack personality and use. Plus, it looks great with a tan.
Light and airy

In any sense, white as a summer color just works. The airiness of it gives cotton and jeans a bright but subdued look. And, when paired with more than one piece of white clothing and/or an accessory, the "white-on-white" look is clean and coordinated.
VERSATILE

This "white-on-white" trend works in all settings, and its versatility is just the tip of the iceberg for its popularity.
Perfect for vacations

When vacationing in tropical settings, full of greenery and color, white-on-white draws eyes to the wearer (think white two-piece sets, jumpsuits, and jewelry/shoes).
Casual yet cute

When working out or just lounging around, white athletic shorts or a tennis skirt and sneakers are summery and look great with bright colors.
Summer internship wear

For the summer internship or job, white-on-white oversized blazers and straight-leg pants paired with a colorful or simple black top give off an air of professionalism and fashion.
Traveling

When traveling, white joggers and a t-shirt/crew-neck or athletic gear is perfectly casual, yet comfortable and cute (the three C's).
Everything from swimsuits to shorts

For the beach or pool, it's a well-known fact that the only thing that beats a red one-piece is a white bikini, and cover-ups look better in white.
