Love isn't a feeling. Love is an action. Love is a sacrifice.
Love is God.
1 Corinthians 13: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres"
God is patient, God is kind. He does not envy, He does not boast, He is not proud. He does not dishonor others, He is not self-seeking, He is not easily angered, He keeps no record of wrongs. God does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. He always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Verse 8 says Love never fails. Taken out of context, we hear this all the time- "The Bible says love never fails. So if it fails, it wasn't love." No- our love fails every day. It is God's love that never fails. Our love isn't perfect, so of course, our love, in any type of relationship, is going to fail inevitably. It is God's love that is consistent and unfailing.
If you do not have God, you have nothing. If you do not have anything and have God, you have everything. If you have God, you have love. If you have love, you have everything.
