So summer is almost here and you know what that means.. It's MUSIC FESTIVAL SEASON. Music festivals are some of my favorite concerts to go too. From Faster Horses to Electric Forest, there's a music festival out there for everyone no matter where they live.

Personally, I've been to Faster Horses twice and it's so much fun. But packing for a music festival can be difficult especially for the chronic over-packer like me. I'll literally pack a weeks worth of clothes for a 3-day trip because I need options but I digress.

You're probably wondering what the point of this article is, and it's to give you a list of essentials to pack for a festival weekend.

1. Sunscreen

If you're anything like me, you burn easily when you're out in the sun for hours. Music festivals are the prime example of that and sunscreen is my best friend. Imagine getting really burnt the first day and then being miserable for the rest of the weekend. No one wants that.

Don't forget to reapply!

2. Water

Water is essential especially when being out in the sun for as long as you will be. Between drinking and sweating, you have to stay hydrated. The last thing that you want to do is pass out from being dehydrated. Like I always say "Hydrate don't Dydrate!"

3. Gatorade/Pedialyte

If you are drinking, you're gonna want to get those electrolytes back the next morning. Gatorade is a great choice to replenish those lost electrolytes and rehydrate yourself and so is Pedialyte. It's personal preference I guess.

4. Food/Snacks

You're gonna want to eat and what better way to do that than bring your own food. You can bring any kind of food you want. Basically whatever you like, bring. Make sure that you store it properly though!

5. Bug Spray

I think bug spray is important to have because getting bug bites sucks. Don't forget it because the one time you need it is the time that you actually need it.

6. A Hoodie/pants

Weather is unpredictable and it doesn't hurt to be prepared. Having a hoodie and pants doesn't hurt just in case you get cold.

7. Fanny Pack

Laugh all you want at this one but my fanny pack saved my life. Fanny Packs are one of the best inventions. You can keep your phone, ID, cash, and anything that you can think of in it and have it all right there so you don't have to go back to the campsite for something. As long as it all fits then your good.

These are just a few of the essentials that I can think of that you NEED to pack for a festival weekend.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
