For most college students, spring break is the symbol for "incoming summer". After enduring the fall semester, and then suffering through half of the spring semester, it's definitely time for a mini vacation, even if that means just sitting home with your family and dog and doing absolutely nothing for a couple of weeks. Though the actual spring break vacation can consist of different events and plans for different people, most students can agree that we all share similar thoughts leading up to a 'relaxing' couple of weeks.

1. Spring break means we're at the halfway point of the semester! We knocked through the beginning mess, and we can finally see the shining light at the end of the semester.

2. Spring break means some professors decide NOW is the time to give out all projects, papers, and exams before break starts.

3. Spring break means the rest of the professors decide that since you have a couple of weeks to relax, they want to give you the projects, papers, and exams DURING break.

4. Spring break means that if you have a group project due BEFORE break starts, the group starts stressing and everyone starts panicking.

5. Spring break means spring fever. For some reason, you just always want to be outside and wear sandals, shorts, and tank-tops.

6. Spring break means the weather takes a turn from bitter cold, to oddly warm.

7. Spring break means getting to see family and friends (and of course, your family pet) from back home again.

8. Spring break means you start caring less and less about school. You decide you're doing okay so far in your classes, and start slack off.

9. Spring break means allergies start to kick in. Once the flowers start to bloom, pollen starts to appear.

10. Spring break means everyone is starting to go outside and playing frisbee.

11. Spring break means that even though winter just ended, it's officially 'almost' summer!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
