What Makes Me An Onion

These are the layers people don't normally see in me.

As Shrek gave Donkey the lesson about onions and ogres, "No. Layers. Onions have layers. Ogres have layers. Onions have layers. You get it? We both have layers.", I decided I'd write about what makes me an onion. As much as people dislike onions, I couldn't help but write about them because I love this analogy so much. Everyone has their own unique layers, so here are mine.

1. I'm the biggest nerd.

Whether it be romantic novels, Star Wars movies, or Harry Potter, you can count me in! I never truly show this layer of me because it's one of my guilty pleasures. There's nothing I love more than spending a rainy day, in bed, curled up, watching one of these series, or reading endless books about sappy love stories.

2. I have the biggest heart.

I've always had a big heart when it comes to everyone and anyone. I'm always trying to get involved in as much as I possibly can that will help or benefit others. If I'm not thinking of other's before I'm thinking of myself I feel guilty. There's nothing I love more than being able to make others smile, and laugh. It's genuinely the most incredible feeling. Someone could slap me in the face, and I would simply say thank you.

3. Art is my everything.

Many people take their frustration out in the form of working out, or playing a sport. For me, it's art. Whether I'm painting, drawing or taking pictures, I'm in my happy place. Being able to relax my mind and focus on the paper and the lines is my zen.

4. I love puppies more than I love myself.

This is not an over exaggeration. I would and will do anything for puppies. I mean who wouldn't? They give the best kisses and the best snuggles. Plus they don't give you attitude or make snarky comments. In all honestly I would sell my organs for puppies. I appreciate their fluff more than anything.

5. I'm passionate about everything and anything.

Once I get involved with something whether it be a relationship, a hobby, an activity, or a job, I give my all and hold nothing back. I get attached to them easily, which can be a good and bad quality, depending on how you look at it. Why bother getting involved with anything if you are only going to half ass it?

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
