If you live on the eastern shore of Maryland, chances are you have been the victim of the crazy weather that has synonymous with the area for years.
While the Eastern Shore has been known for its unpredictable and sometimes ridiculous weather, this holiday season has given way to a new kind of hellish weather.
This month we have experienced practically every single season underneath the sun, and while I wish this was an exaggeration, everyone living here can vouch that no, it is not.
For those of you who aren’t aware of this Eastern Shore phenomenon, this is what it’s like living here.
1. Your body is in constant shock from the drastic changes in temperature day to day. You never see it coming, and it hurts like hell.
2. And even though everyone says it’s a myth, you feel yourself catching a cold each time it drops from 70 to 50.
3. The weatherman has become a laughingstock. He’s a nice guy and all, but anyone who thinks they can predict this Eastern Shore weather is a fool.
4. You check your weather app before heading out the door. You’re dressed appropriately for today’s weather. But everything is a lie. Because while your iPhone says it’s 56, it’s actually 70, and now you're having to sit throughout the day worrying about the amount of sweat you're accumulating underneath your arms.
5. Think you’ll go out for a nice walk in the park? It’s nice and sunny now right? Wrong! The random downpour has ruined your plans.
6. It's impossible to tell how crazy a storm is actually going to get around here. A huge storm may end up being a small shower.
7. In the end Mother Nature may not know what she's doing half the time, but sometimes she gets it right here on the Eastern Shore. Which is why we're OK with putting up with her mood swings.
