7 Reasons Why You Should Watch "The Mandalorain"

For those of you who live under a rock, Disney+ has finally arrived and with came an 8 episode Star Wars series called "The Mandalorian" that fans have been freaking out over since its release November 12th. If you're one of the few that hasn't started watching it yet, here's why you should:

It’s created, produced, and written by Jon Favreau.

Yes, the same guy who directed legendary classics Elf and Iron Man made this lovely Star Wars series. If that doesn't make you curious I don't know what will.

There's lots of action.

I like my shows action packed. If you're like that as well, then "The Mandalorian" is perfect for you. Blasters. Explosions. Mercenaries. You can see it all in "The Mandalorian."

The Star Wars lore.

If you're already a Star Wars can then chances are you've already seen "The Mandalorian." However, if you haven't, what the heck is stopping you? "The Mandalorian" is filled to the brim with Star Wars lore for the fans and covers in a crucial hole between the movies that has never been highlighted before.

It’s basically a Western adventure.

You're probably confused. "But it takes place in a galaxy far far away?" Yes, I know. Allow me to explain. "The Mandalorian" takes place in a lawless galaxy after the fall of the Empire in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, much like how Western movies and shows take place in the lawless frontier of the west. So if you like gunslinging cowboys, you'll appreciate "The Mandalorian" just the same. The only difference is your pistols are replaced by blasters and your flannel and chaps are replaced by Beskar steel.

It shows the universe through a different lense.

If you've grown tired of all the Jedi jargon of the movies then "The Mandalorian" is perfect for you. There isn't a single Jedi shown. Instead, you get a rough and tumble group of mercenaries and lots of blasting. The characters are the "shoot first, ask questions later" type instead of the "let's really think about how this affects the order of things" Jedi type.

Baby Yoda.

"The Mandalorian" isn't just about the "dude with the helmet". I know you've seen the baby Yoda memes. If for no other reasons, you have to watch "The Mandalorian" just for all the cute stuff baby Yoda does in each episode. I constantly find myself gushing over the cuteness.

“I have spoken.”

I'm not even going to explain this one, just hurry up and watch the first episode.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
