The Absolute Best Looks From The 2016 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

As everyone knows, the Victoria Secret Fashion show was in Paris on November 30 and aired to the public Monday, December 5. With nearly 6.65 million viewers the Victoria Fashion show continues to be an event that garners watch parties, costumes, and many social media posts. From the most loyal of fans knowing every model and to the newcomers who only recognize the performers and maybe Kendall Jenner, everyone loves to see one extravagant look after another. I decided it was only fitting to discuss my favorite looks and favorite parts of the night. I decided to organize by saying which look was my favorite of each theme of the night (in order of when they appeared). I included the quotes of how Victoria Secret described each segment.

The Road Ahead

Embroidered, beaded & woven in rich, bold colors—embellishments take center stage and exotic lands beckon.” (Victoria Secret)

This theme was based on a multicultural viewpoint and Chinese designs. My favorite look was Barbara Fialho’s, they said it took three weeks to design and four weeks to embroider. I love this because the skirt looks so detailed and beautiful you cant even tell that its lingerie.

Mountain Romance

Delicate floral embroideries like wildflowers, fit for an Alpine maiden. Rich velvets & wools evoke carefree outdoor beauty in fresh mountain air.” (Victoria Secret)

This theme was based on the idea of an “Alpine Maiden”, with embroidered flowers to resemble wildflowers. The wings are an essential part of the fashion show and I picked my favorite from this one based on the wings. Kelly Gale’s look for this segment was my favorite because I loved the way they used flowers and leaves to create her unconventional wings.

Pink Nation

Larger-than-life with head-to-toe bows and a pink-hued palate that’s playful and pure energy.” (Victoria Secret)

The Pink Nation segment was all about bows, small bows, medium bows and large bows. I had a harder time deciding which bow arrangement was my favorite for this segment, I was between Maggie Laine, with the oversized bow, and Grace Elizabeth’s wings made of bows. I think both were absolutely amazing and decided to have two favorites for this section.

Secret Angel

For the mysterious femme fatale: espionage-inspired trench coats and racy lace in shades of shadow & smoke.” (Victoria Secret)

The word secret is essential in this segment, focusing on espionage and trench coats. The color scheme for this one was shades of shadow and smoke with lace. I think there’s no question who my favorite was for this one. Adriana Lima is the quintessential Victoria Secret Angels in my mind so I absolutely loved her in this segment.

Dark Angel

Sinful & more than a little wicked in leather dark as midnight and bewitching raven-feathered wings—not for the faint of heart.” .” (Victoria Secret)

This might have been my favorite segment of the night with the leather and dark color scheme. There were so many amazing looks from Kendall Jenner to Taylor Hill.

Bright Night Angel

Luminous and luxe, she’s every party girl’s muse in glittering jewels and a flash of sparkle to light up the night.” (Victoria Secret)

As the closing theme it delivered everything we wanted and more. Jewels on jewels, sparkle is an understatement when it comes to this closing theme. Every girl loves her sparkle and of course this is where we get to see the Fantasy Bra. Now, who could ignore Josephine Skriver’s glistening sleeves? However this article wouldn’t be complete without featuring the fantasy bra.

Until next year Angels!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
