There are 11 verses straight out of the King James Version of the Bible that are not commonly read or known, but they shed light on important subjects within the Bible that may go unnoticed.

1. Isaiah 56:10

His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.

Yes, God refers to certain people as "dumb dogs."

2. Job 30:30

My skin is black upon me, and my bones are burned with heat.

3. Song of Solomon 1:5-6

I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon. Look not upon me, because I am black.

4. Revelation 20:15

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

5. Proverbs 6:16-19

These six things doth the Lord hate: a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood; an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief; a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord.

It would seem that God does not love everyone no matter what they do. He, too, can hate.

6. Numbers 11:14-15

14 I [Moses] am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me. 15 And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.

Even Moses had his share of difficulties. So much so that he wanted to die.

7. Song of Solomon 5:11

His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven.

His hair is described as that of black people's hair — black and bushy like wool.

8. Proverbs 13:24

He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

9. John 15:23

He that hateth me [Jesus] hateth my Father also.

You can not love God the Father and disregard Jesus. If you don't believe in Jesus, you are showing that you also hate the Father.

10. I John 4:20

If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

11. John 14:15

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
