Venezuela: South America's Luxurious Country
NY Daily News

Some places drown in injustices while others prevail and resurface from their troubles. An admirable quality in someone is the ability to smile through difficulties, and laugh through hardships.

Venezuela is a country in South America, mainly dependent on the oil industry. It is home to some of the most beautiful natural features. Located in the tropics over the equator, Venezuela's weather varies distinguishably between humid-low elevation plains. The country is rather unique, being categorized into the list of "The 17 Mega Diverse Countries in the World." Its habitats range from the beautiful and nostalgic Andes Mountains in the west, to the Amazon Basin rainforest located in the south. It is united in its diversity and shares wonderful landscapes with forests, mountains and snowy plains.

"Flor de Mayo" is catalogued as Venezuela's natural flower and radiates purity through its white divine petals.

Venezuela is a rich country, blessed with natural wonders and warm people. Recognized as one of the 10 most bio-diverse countries on Earth, its awareness of conservation and environmentally-friendly actions glows." In 2003, 70% of the nation's land was under conservation management in over 200 protected areas, including 43 national parks."

Although Venezuela is going through some political hardships, its beauty, grace and elegance continue to be prevalent over its landscape and remind the people that it is through obstacles that knowledge is forever gained.

A luxurious and wonder filled trip awaits you, through the pure and loving arteries of the fields and landscapes that make Venezuela sublime...

"The Earth has music for those who listen."

The enchanting and spiritual string of simplicity hangs around the trees of nature. This pureness transcends every wall, into one's heart, filling it with love and spirituality. Compassion and kindness are traits learnt from Earth, it is Mother Nature who teaches us the love and purpose of being.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
