Every since I was a kid I have loved Valentine's Day! I remember being in elementary school and we had to bring Valentine's day cards for everyone in the class! Each year everyone wanted to out do each other! Who would bring the cards with the stickers inside? Who gave out the boxes of candy? I remember giving out Barbie cards and Harry Potter cards. All the boys in the class would give out monster truck or hot wheels cards. Our teachers would have a little Valentine's day themed party and there would be decorations and pink cupcakes and heart shaped everything!

Every year I love visiting my Grandparents on Valentine's Day to give them gifts! I always get flowers and balloons and candy or cupcakes and just spend some time with them to celebrate! I also get flowers for my mom and sister and balloons and candy for my dad! Valentine's Day is a day about love so why not spend it with the people you love?

Every year around this time we see how people complain about Valentine's Day. So many people hate this holiday. I think February 14th is a day to remind your loved ones that you love them! Who cares if you're single or not married? You have a family, you have friends and coworkers and so many people in your life that you can spoil on this day!

Valentine's Day is my favorite because I love seeing the smile on my family member's faces when I show up in the middle of the day to surprise them. Yes, we spoil people on their birthdays and during Christmas time, but its kind of expected on those days. I love having a reason to spend time with my family and reminding them how much I love them.

So this year, or next year instead of hating on this holiday make plans with your loved ones and enjoy the time you have with them while you have it! Valentine's days also makes for a great theme and color scheme for a party or a girls night! It's one day out of the year and who wants to spend the day sad and miserable?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
