Alberta is a one-of-a-kind place to visit. I could probably talk about all the sights and wonders for hours on end, but I'd recommend experiencing it for yourself instead. These are 10 of my suggested activities for your next trip to Lake Louise!
1. Go canoeing
Lake Louise offers hourly canoe rentals. I highly suggest doing this if you’re visiting! For hotel guests, it’s $65 an hour ($55 a half hour), and for non-hotel guests, it’s $105 an hour ($95 a half hour).
2. Hike to one of the many different tearooms
See Lake Agnes on the way up to the Lake Agnes Tea House, where there are 100 different kinds of tea to choose from.
3. Walk through Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise
Opened in 1890, the chateau features several shops, multiple restaurants, and spectacular views of the lake.
4. Or better yet…Stay at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise
Although it's expensive, it's worth it for the experience!
5. Eat fondue at The Walliser Stube
I ate here two of the nights I stayed at FCLL, and I will never regret all the fondue I consumed.
6. Hammock
If you’re like me, you carry your Eno everywhere, always searching for the best spot to relax. There are hundreds—maybe even thousands of places to hammock here.
7. Practice your photography skills
On my last trip to Lake Louise, I was there a total of 4 days and probably took close to 500+ pictures. The landscape is unbelievable, and no matter how many photos you capture, the view will never look quite as good as it does in person.
8. Ice skate
While this isn’t an option in the summer, it’s worth saying. The lake freezes over in the winter, and the hotel offers ice-skating and hockey.
9. Watch the sunrise
This takes little effort, even early in the morning. Watching the sunrise over the lake and mountains is unforgettable.
10. Try dog sledding
Again, this isn’t offered in the summer, but it’s an extremely unique experience. These tours are located in Banff, very close to Lake Louise.
If you're looking for somewhere to take your next getaway or a magical location for your honeymoon, Lake Louise is the place to go!
