With the new year comes new adventures, but planning out an entire trip can be a daunting task! If you've never been to the place you're traveling to, how are you supposed to know all the best things to do? These three sites can help you, making you more than just a tourist.
1. Roadtrippers
Roadtrippers is a great website (and app!) from the people at MapQuest. It coordinates the best route to take from point A to point B and fills your map in with attractions, restaurants, and places to stay along the way. It's fully customizable, so you can add or delete anything you want! Once you've perfected it, you can add the map right to your phone, and you're on your way.
(Don't worry — it's not just limited to the U.S.!)
2. Inspirock
My personal favorite, Inspirock, started with the goal of inspiring people to travel. It creates day-to-day itineraries for the cities you enter, right down to time slots and prices. One thing I really love about it is that they offer an embedded currency converter, so there's no need to worry about figuring out how much your money is worth. It's a great way to see everything you want to see, all kept in one place. Inspirock shows your route, your schedule, where to stay and how to get there while finding the best prices for it all.
Your plan is personalized, and you can book everything right there through the site. What's not to like?
3. Jetsetter
Jetsetter is full of extensive travel guides and stories, tips and tricks, and deals on hotels, flights and more. This website doesn't just help you get where you're going; it teaches you how to be a great traveler. Featured articles are tailored to your searches, so every time you go to their website, you'll have an array of listicles based on where you want to go. It's also great for helping you find where you'd like to visit in the first place!
