I don’t think anyone actually cares what music I listen to. Nor do I think people want my recommendations in music. But here I sit, writing about the music I’ve been listening to lately. These are just a hodge podge of songs I’ve stumbled across in the past few months and I guess you could classify them as indie/alternative. I’ve written about music before, so I will say this again. These songs are not for everyone. Just like not everyone is a country music person, these won’t be everyone's cup of tea. However, I enjoy them so here they are.
1. "Window"- MAGIC GIANT
This is personally my top song at the moment. The first time I heard it I was hooked on it because everything in it works so well together. Plus the music video shows us that music can help be an escape and this song is the perfect way to do that.
2. "Electric love"- BØRNS
Definitely the song that makes you think of summer in these cold winter months. The drop into the chorus is honestly so good and catchy. It’s been stuck in my head the whole time I was writing this.
3. "Wild"- Royal Teeth
Another summery song that is infectious and makes you want to sing along. The different harmonies draw you in and keep you there, while the overlapping melodies make for lively song. Truly a something you can groove to in the car or anywhere.
4. "Apple Pie"- Rafferty
Probably the most hardcore song on this list but one of the best. The beat really pushes in this song and you can’t help but bop your head along. Be careful if you drive listening to this song, you may heavily start to speed.
5. "Chateau"- Angus & Julia Stone
I discovered this song when I was stalking Dacre Montgomery because I love Stranger Things and, let’s be real, he’s gorgeous. But he stars in this music video and though I went into it wanting to stare at him and came out of it with a new song on my playlist.
6. "Drugs"- EDEN
A variety of beats go into this song which is what makes it so interesting. This song features another good drop going into the chorus. Also the music video kind of made me tear up so there’s another reason to listen to this song.
7. "Broken"- lovelytheband
This song is too catchy not to put it on the list. There are interesting musical accents that aren’t usually used in music plus the lyrics are wonderful and relatable. It embraces everyone's imperfections which is pretty awesome.
