It's that time of year again when it's time to make the long car trek back to college. If you're like me, you can't wait to get back down south where the food chains are unlike any of the options back up in the north.
Here are the top five southern food chains.
5. Cook-Out. Unfortunately, Cook-Out is only found in North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia. Make sure to get a tray, which provides you with multiple food combinations, and one of their famous milkshakes. And get a spoon because it's one of the thickest milkshakes you'll ever drink.4. Bojangles. Known for their famous Chicken n' Biscuits, you can't go wrong. Although Bo's is perfect for a morning stop, thanks to all their breakfast biscuit options, a Cajun chicken biscuit and large $.99 sweet tea will definitely get you through the five hours you still have left in the car.
3. Zaxby's. Everything on the menu at Zaxby's is spelled with a "z" or ends with a "z" -- and it's totally fine because ordering Chicken Fingerz with Zaxby Sauce and Texas Toast is a the mid-day pick me up you've alwayz dreamed of. However, Zaxby's ice is the greatest part of the meal. Call me crazy, but next time you order a soft drink from Zaxby's check it out.
2. Rasing Canes: Chicken Fingers on chicken fingers on chicken fingers. Add Canes sauce. Done deal.
1. Chick-Fil-A. Chick-fil-A has to take the number one spot. From chicken mini's in the morning, to chicken biscuits at night, Chick-Fil-A will definitely have you wanting to "Eat Mor Chicken" as told by the cows featured in all their advertisements. They provide multiple sauce choices including: BBQ, Honey Mustard, Polynesian Sauce, and the famous Chick-Fil-A sauce. My go-to sauce choices are definitely the Chick-Fil-A and Polynesian sauces.
