As an artist, you are always waiting for the moment to share your work with the audience.
Being on the stage is one of the biggest pleasures I have in life, but it takes a lot of energy, and I like to treat myself after the performance.
Here are seven things I do after a show, and I’m sure you have done some of them.
1. Hot and Cold
With the sweat all over your body and clothes, the best thing to do is take a hit/warm shower, but! I get into the shower with a bunch of ice bags. So I press the ice bags in a specific area of my body and then get in the warm water. Also if my feet hurt too much, I submerge them in an ice bucket.
2. Food!!
Hungry, that’s how you feel after a performance. When I finished my cleaning ritual then I prepare myself (or order) something good, and not necessarily healthy, like pizza.
3. Massage
Two hours of class is not the same as dancing two hours on the stage. We always use our energy and body to its maximum capacity. So at the end, it is more likely that our body will hurt. Doing massage with an ointment to your body is the best way to relax the muscles and thanked your body for all the effort.
4. Infusion
This is just one of the things I love to do, boiling water with mint and chamomile or peppermint, and serve the infusion in a big mug. I usually drink it on the couch or my bed, while I enjoy each sip in silence.
5. Chocolate
After my infusion, I need something sweet. A little dessert that will make me smile is a chocolate, even more, if it has mint. Just like my infusion, I eat slowly this delight, because I only have it on specific occasions.
6. Sleep
With a sweet taste in my mouth and my relaxed muscles, I’m ready to fall sleep like Sleeping Beauty and dream for eight hours in a row.
7. Jogging
I’m not sure why, but the next day I like to wake-up early, drink a big glass of water, stretch, and then go out to the park and jog. I like to do it without music, and enjoy the sounds of the early morning. I also do it with my hair loose, so I can feel how the wind plays with it.
