As the winter months come to a close, especially here in Florida, there were a few songs that I realized were paramount to my winter vibe. With only two weeks of cold down south, I try to get into the cozy feelings of a northern winter in every way that I can. What is a better way to do that when you have your blanket, hot cocoa, and book? MUSIC of course. Here's what I was listening to this winter:

1. Northern Wind

I am a HUGE City and Colour fan. Dallas Green is a melodic acoustic and folk singer. He is also known for his role as lead singer in Alexisonfire. Although I love mostly all of his songs, Northern Wind puts me right in that mood, where I want to be laying in bed all cozy with my love!

2. Re: Stacks

Bon Iver, pronounced Bon Evare, is an indie folk band founded by the lead singer Justin Vernon. I'm going to be honest, a lot of times I have to look up the lyrics. He is kind of hard to understand, but there is just something about his music that makes me feel warm and at home. His moniker, Bon Iver, actually translates to "good winter," so it only makes sense that this song would be on my winter playlist ;)

3. Monsoon

This is a live a version and the original is good, but this one is GOOOOOD . It's something about the live instruments and the ethereal sounds of the horn make this a dreamy little tune. This is a sit by the fire song for sure!

4. Watching From A Rooftop

I am sucker for a song that uses a lot of real instruments and this song has a lot of that. This song casts a spell whenever I hear it.

5. Exchange

Bryson Tiller's debut album was a complete banger and I think that this song makes me get into the winter feels because it was cold when I saw him in concert LOL! This song just makes you want to take things slow and relax. Definitely my go to when I want to digress in a warm bath.

I could list a thousand more, but we can start here ;) What are some of your favorite songs to listen to during the chilly weather?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
