Top 5 Outdoor Places To Visit In NEPA
By stevemorrissey on Everypixel

When people come to NEPA, they expect to be visiting The Crossings Premium Outlets, the Poconos, Kalahari or Great Wolf Lodge, or even Scranton (for those "Office" lovers). Though living in "The Valley" is so much more than that! You can find so many amazing little coffee shops, small businesses, and even some of the best pizza! You also do not want to miss out on the nature and history that NEPA has to offer! Here are some of my top outdoors places to visit.

Concrete City

Built in 1911, this abandoned company housing in Nanticoke is a great place to visit if you have a day off! As you walk through you buildings, there are so many places to take pictures with graffiti covering the walls. You can even bring your own spray paint and add something to this piece of living history!

Seven Tubs Nature Area

Right off the highway, Seven Tubs is one of the best places to go for a swim! With multiple swimming holes and even a natural slide, you will not be disappointed! If you don't want to swim, it has some great uphill hiking trails! With a waterfall and some bridges, it is also a great picture spot!

The Lands at Hillside Farms

Hillside Farms is a working dairy farm where you can walk around the farm, meet the animals, volunteer, and end the day with some ice cream! You're also able to shop around in the brand new mercantile store with some homemade products! It is a great spot to take photos as many people go there for weddings, senior photos, and everything in between. It is a wonderful place to walk around and just enjoy the outdoors!

Brace's Orchard

Ever since opening in 1828, Brace's has been harvesting apples and all kinds of other berries! While best know for being a great place to go apple picking in the fall, Brace's has some of the irresistible homemade goodies, and for an amazon price too!! When you go, don't forget to pick up a gallon of their famous apple cider and apple cider donuts, which are made all year round!

Pallman Farms

Looking for something relaxing to do on a Sunday morning? Add strawberry picking at Pallman Farms to your schedule! You can bring your own buckets/bowls and hop on their covered wagon as it takes you on a quick ride to the strawberry fields! You are assigned a row and you can pick as many strawberries as you want!! When you're done, pick up a Strawberry Splash Smoothie or already picked blueberries from their concession stand!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
