Love Story. You Belong With Me. Look What You Made Me Do.
These are Taylor Swift songs that most everyone knows, and don't get me wrong, they're great songs. But what are the songs that don't get any airplay; the ones that no one knows about? Well, look no further: here is a list of the top ten underrated Taylor Swift songs!
1. All Too Well: Red, Track 5
There are no words to describe how much I love this song or how perfect it is. This is it: this is the song I show everyone who doubts Taylor's abilities as a singer and songwriter. This song is beautiful and haunting and absolutely perfect.
2. You Are In Love: 1989, Bonus Track
If you're like me, you always get your Taylor Swift albums from Target because you know there's always extra songs on it. "You Are In Love" is one of those songs, and it's one of my favorite songs of all time.
3. White Horse: Fearless, Track 5
My favorite song off the Fearless album is this one right here. The lyrics, the melody, everything about this song is perfection.
4. Last Kiss: Speak Now, Track 13
Ask most Taylor Swift fans what the saddest song in Taylor's catalog is, and most will answer this one. Taylor paints a perfect picture of sadness and longing like few other can do with this track. At six minutes, there's plenty of time to get the tears flowing.
5. The Last Time: Red, Track 10
Red was the first album that Taylor started shifting towards pop, and while every song on this album is tremendous, I'm still drawn more towards the songs with the country vibe, much like this one. It's a truly marvelous song, and you can hear Taylor's pain throughout.
6. Breathe: Fearless, Track 7
No one does heartbreak quite like Taylor Swift. This is a beautiful, melodic song that brings you back to your first heartbreak every time you listen to it. Mix in vocals from Colbie Caillat, and you've got a truly amazing song.
7. Tied Together With A Smile: Taylor Swift, Track 7
Can you believe Taylor Swift's debut album dropped eleven years ago? This song still gets me all these years later. It's emotional and beautiful, and show off both Taylor's songwriting skills and vocals.
8. Better Than Revenge: Speak Now, Track 10
A revenge ballad done right. I love the little jabs that Taylor executes with this one and the way she manipulates her voice. This is the kind of song that gets you excited for Reputation.
9. Long Live: Speak Now, Track 14
I want to cry every time I hear this song. It's such an anthem, and I can't help but think of my friends whenever I hear it. Whenever I'm feeling down, I put on this song, and it reminds me that the best things are yet to come.
10. Change: Fearless, Track 13
This song is honestly such a banger. I don't have a favorite Taylor Swift album because they're all so good, but Fearless is stacked with amazing songs, including this one.
