So let me start out by saying that I like to have movie nights with my two friends Kaylie and Shannon (love you guys). We probably have about AT LEAST four movie nights a week. After we finish a movie we will watch an episode of How I Met Your Mother on Hulu because we don't want to go to bed yet. Sometimes we will just put on HIMYM because we don't know what movie to watch. Anyways, Hulu likes to play ads throughout the tv show or movie you are streaming on its site. Anytime ads start to play, we ALWAYS end up seeing a ToonBlast ad with Ryan Reynolds. If you have not seen these commercials you need to stop what you're doing right now and look them up on YouTube. They are the BEST things in the world and they make my day so much better.

So what the heck is ToonBlast and why is Ryan Reynolds appearing in ads for the app? I don't know. Well I know the answer to the first half of the question but not the second half. ToonBlast is basically another version of Candy Crush, but in my opinion it is way better. Yes, I do have the app. During one of our movie nights I was like "Wow I really need to get this game now." So I downloaded it and I'm somewhere around level 125. I play this game a lot now. It is my go to when I'm bored and tired after a long class.

So more on the actual commercials. When I first watched one of them I thought it was the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Then they started to show up repeatedly. That is when I realized it was Ryan Reynolds in the commercials and though "Oh this is actually pretty funny." So they kept appearing before and during anything I was streaming online, and every time I would laugh. That's when I downloaded the game and I have been playing ever since. The game has pinatas that blow up, jelly-like squares that spread, weird protective bubbles, and so much more. It honestly does get a lot harder as the game goes on and you continue to level up. Personally I love the game, and I think I'll be playing it for awhile.

Now I'm sure a lot of you are saying that I'm a really idiot for downloading this free game because of a commercial, but from my perspective I find it very fascinating. An advertisement used a famous celebrity that I know from a well known movie to promote a very generic game in order for young audience members like me to go download the game. I didn't think that would ever work on me, but it did surprisingly. It is crazy how advertising techniques work, and how they plan all this stuff just to target a specific group with a specific product in order to produce a profit off of it.

ToonBlast is a great game. if you're ever bored I highly suggest getting this game. It is very simple to play and it is free! Nothing better than that when it comes to games on our phones. The Ryan Reynolds aspect of this whole game advertisement still has me confused. I wonder how much the game company is paying this man to promote their silly simple game. Like is it worth it? If you get suckers like me everyday downloading this game then you're fine! If that is not the case then I don't know what to tell you. Overall though, this game uses a great advertising technique in order to get a lot of people to download it. Get ToonBlast today!
