Dear Aimee,
Of all the things I have to thank BTS for, your friendship is at the top of the list. We became friends at the beginning of the year through Instagram because we are both ARMY— with you being Jimin biased, and me being wrecked daily by Jimin back in those January days. And that was how our friendship was built, around a solid foundation of fangirling and genuine love and appreciation for our seven boys.
Then came your secondary agenda: to get me involved in as many K-pop groups as possible. So far you've only succeeded with one group— but gosh, Aimee, it was one heck of a success. Have you thought about how I literally traveled across the country to see Astro only because you introduced them to me in February? That's actually insane, but it's indicative of how we support each others' chaotic energy.
But you're not just a fellow K-pop fangirl. We talk about the Avengers and Disney and books and our own stories— the ones we write and the ones we were born into. You were the first person to tell me Happy Birthday this year, and the highlight of this month for me (after seeing BTS live) was creating your birthday surprises. You're someone I know I can always talk to because you're on my side.
We've talked about that before— how there are some people we're just meant to talk to, we're meant to meet, and we're meant to be friends with. And I don't know how I could have met you any other way since we live on opposite sides of the country. But I believe everything has happened how it was supposed to, with us as friends separated only by distance and a very annoying time difference.
So never forget how thankful I am for your positive influence in my life.
P.S. Never stop recommending K-Pop groups to me.
