Dear Future Daughter,
I am writing you this letter in hopes to give you as much guidance as I can about certain aspects of life. I hope that the world has changed by the time you are born and I hope that you will never have to see the hate that is facing us at this time. I want you to be strong in everything that you do, never let anyone tell you that you are less than you are. You can accomplish anything if you put in enough hard work. Always remember that you are your own person and no one can tell you how to feel or how to act. No one should ever tell you that "girls can't do that" or "you're good at that for a girl,” that fact that you are a woman should never interfere with you doing what makes you happy.
You will learn the value of friendship as you get older and unfortunately you may come across people who will not be the best of friends and they will make you feel less than you are. You do not need that negativity in your life. I hope that you are able to make amazing, lifelong friends and although you may lose a couple on the way, the best ones are the ones who stick around.
On a more positive note I hope that you love music just as much as I do. You will have your own interests but know that I will embarrass you in front of your friends by bursting into your room singing show tunes. It would just make your life easier if you were able to sing along with me. I hope that you have a wonderful sense of humor, laughter is the best medicine.
I promise that we will have a dog. We will take that dog everywhere because he or she will be another member of the family. I hope that with that dog you are able to make memories that I wish I could've if I had grown up with a dog.
I promise to love you no matter what. Don't ever feel like you have to hide anything from me I want to be the first person that you come to for anything. Know that I value family above everything and I hope that you are able to make memories with our family and value them just as much as me.
So to conclude my letter to you I leave you with this, be anything you set your mind to. Though this may sound like a cliché parent thing to say I really do mean it. I don't want you to ever feel like you can't do something whether it be being class president, starting a new trend or maybe something as simple as asking your crush out on a date, your possibilities are endless. I hope that you live in a world that you don't have society telling you that you are anything but amazing.
