To Those Who Tip,

I personally want to thank you. I personally appreciate each and every person that comes into the restaurant that I am working at. Even if I do not receive a tip at the end of the experience. You see a lot of articles or posts about how people get frustrated over customer's not tipping, but this is not what this is about.

This is an open letter to all those people who leave a nice tip.

Thank you.

You make my life and job a little easier. You take what could have been a bad day and make it into a better one. Especially if everything is not going as expected or as smoothly as I want. I personally try to make sure everything goes perfectly as possible. I want to make sure you get refills, napkins, your food, whatever it is you need. Even if it is your fourth extra ranch.

When I have a table I want them to feel as welcome as possible.

The first restaurant that I worked at taught me that. I want for you to feel like you are family coming in and sitting and enjoying a meal. A lot of these recipes are old family recipes. We want you to come back and be apart of the family. That's the kind of service I want and try to accomplish.

And if you see that that is what I am trying to do, or that I am running around and trying to make sure everyone is doing good and you leave a good tip.

Bless you, because not everyone does that.

I am gracious for every single penny I get. And sometimes, I will be stressed out because my bills are late. But every cent that is sent my way is used to pay for those bills or help me save up for something. So thank you for your generosity.

Thank you for every cent you give me.

Thank you for the little bit that you can give if it is a small amount. Thank you for your generosity, because this is my job.

I can tell you one thing: I love what I do.

Sincerly,

A hard working waitress

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
