May 11th, 2011.
That day started out as any normal day for his father James Ptizen who dropped him off at school. What James couldn't have known is that this would be the last time he ever saw his son.
From the outside looking in, The Pitzen family was as happy as they come but as we would come to find out James and Timmothy's mother Amy were experiencing a rocky road in their relationship and were even considering divorce.
After School had let out May 11th, James showed up to Timmothy's school to pick him up and was immediately alarmed when he was told Amy had picked Timmothy up and said there had been a family emergency. James saw the red flags immediately especially after contacting Amy's family and finding out for sure there was no family emergency.
In the middle of James panicking about the location of his wife and son, it seemed like just maybe everything was going to be okay. Two days after the mother and son vanished, Amy contacted family members and let them know that she and Timmothy were safe and she just needed some time away.
All peace of mind quickly vanished when the morning of May 14th rolled around and Amy was found dead in her hotel room, with no Timmothy to be found.
Here's what we know about Amy and Timmothy's movements before the hotel: Amy and Timmothy were BOTH spotted on security cameras the night of the disappearance at a resort in Wisconsin and this was the last time anyone ever would see Timothy, however when Amy made the call on the 13th to family members, Timmothy could be heard in the background talking about being hungry.
At 7:25 pm the same evening Amy was seen ALONE on a security camera at the dollar store in Winnebago and then again at a food store only 35 minutes later. Based on that, we can assume that whatever happened to Timmothy happened between the phone call and the trip to the dollar store.
Along with finding Amy, the police found a letter, it was a suicide note of sorts and apologized for all the hurt she had already caused and all the hurt that was going to come because of her actions. There is said to have been three notes all very similar and the most unsettling thing she wrote in those letters is that Timmothy was with people that would keep him safe and that he will never be found.
Now there is a lot of theories about what happened to Timmothy. Some people think Amy gave him at an Amish family, people think this because it would explain why if he is indeed alive he has never been spotted and has never come forward. Other people think she gave him to someone she trusted that knows that there is a family looking for him but doesn't care because Amy told them untrue things about James. Others think something much more sinister happened. We can only hope nothing Sinister was Timmothy's reality.
It is now 2019 and Timmothy has been missing for eight years and would now be 14 years old if you have any information that could lead to bringing Timmothy home you can contact the Crime Stoppers of Illinois at 630-892-1000 if you wish to stay anonymous or can contact the Aurora Police department at 630-256-5500.
