I'm surprised to see that protein intake has become so simplified when it could be a lot more fun! There are many different protein flavors and options. For those who have been following me, you all know that I am vegan and I buy organic vegan protein, which comes in an array from powder to a giant chocolate chip cookie.
Your protein intake should be the least of your worries as long as you can incorporate it throughout your meals. Some of you may have heard a myth about protein. Let's get past the basic ancient telling about protein and have it out of the way; "meat is the only protein".
There, we did it. Let's avoid any negligible assumptions about protein and finally start to have fun.
There's protein in almost a wide range of nutritious food that does not involve the flesh of another being and I'm not talking about cannibalism. On the other hand, I'm sure we can be understanding about having off days and only eating the minimal when it comes to our daily nutrition intake. I for one can say I've had my days where I'd rather eat junk food and I claim that it's all about balance.
To really ensure balance, I add protein to my coffee. Some of you may be having a weird configuration to the sound of that, but let me just say that I make it taste good. I use the vanilla flavored protein powder and vanilla flavored coffee Keurig edition. You can mix and match flavors all you want, and even add some whipped cream.
Other coffee toppings include fudge, caramel, cinnamon, matcha, sugar crystals, or even salt flakes.
Instructions:
1. I mix the protein powder and milk in a blender first (add ice for iced coffee).
2. I add the milk mixed with protein powder into my mug (leave room for coffee).
3. I place my mug in my Keurig and press for coffee (use another mug for iced coffee).
4. I stir the coffee with the milk mixed with protein powder & add any toppings of choice.
This is a great pick-me-up. On top of that, imagine drinking your protein coffee shake with a protein bar or dessert? My best friend can make any dessert out of protein she's even made cannoli Brooklyn style.
My point is, there are various methods to obtain a regulated protein intake and you can go far beyond means to be as creative as you want.
There's no such thing as limitations when it comes to how much protein you can have.
I hope by reading this you all are at least a little bit inspired to find more healthy ways to add protein into your diet as a guaranteed daily nutrition intake. I wish you all well.
