After watching a majority of the sixteen seasons of TLC's "Say Yes To The Dress" I consider myself an experienced unofficial bridal consultant. Say Yes to the Dress has been one of my favorite shows since it first came in 2007.

It’s not uncommon to see my mom and me, and sometimes even my grandma, critiquing the brides just as much as their entourages. It’s just so fun to see Randy, Lori, and Monte helping brides-to-be feel their most fabulous.

While I’m not getting married anytime soon, it’s still exciting to admire the thousands of dresses Kleinfeld and Bridals by Lori have in stock. I also appreciate the endless amount of advice the consultants lend so that when I do someday get engaged, my bridal appointment will end with a, “Yes!”

1. Don’t bring a massive entourage

Too many cooks in the kitchen spoils the broth.

2. Come prepared

Wedding dress shopping is stressful enough, and not having a direction only adds to the the craziness.

3. But don't be afraid to take into account other options

Your dream dress might be something you never expected.

4. Trust your consultant

They are professionals, right?

5. And your gut

You know when you know.

6. Choose your dress 6-8 months before your wedding

How many times on the show has a bride been limited to the samples? Plan ahead so you can maximize your options!

7. The veil seals the deal

*Cue the tears*

8. Don't choose your dress before you choose your man

You would think this goes without saying.

9. Momma knows best

Honestly are you surprised?

10. Don't be afraid to stick up for yourself

You’re the one wearing the dress on the big day!

11. You don’t have to break the bank to find your perfect dress

Spend that money on another part of the wedding!

12. There is a dress for everyone

Have patience, you’ll find it!

13. Don't let the dress wear you

No matter how much your dress sparkles, make sure you sparkle more.

14. If the dress isn’t perfect yet, it can probably be altered

I honestly think the ladies who alter dresses on Say Yes to the Dress are secretly fairy godmothers.

15. Sparkle changes everything

Sometimes the difference between a yes and a no is just a little sparkle.

16. The bride deserves the attention, not the entourage

We’ve all seen the episodes with that person who tries to make the bridal appointment about them…

17. No roosters in the hen house

As Lori from Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta always says.

18. But sometimes Daddy’s little girl needs fatherly input

Dad’s approval is not only needed for the man, but the dress too.

19. Stick to your budget

If you don’t, it’s just heartbreak waiting to happen.

20. There is such a thing as too sexy

Honey, keep it classy.

21. Dresses are now not only coming in many styles, but many colors as well

Choosing a dress wasn’t hard enough already!

22. You can never have too many dresses

When in doubt, buy them both.

23. You know when you know

Just like your man.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
