We all see the typical college things that happen to people so here of some of mine. Yes, some are weirder than others. Some I saw, some I heard, but some of these things also happened to me. So, enjoy reading through these if you need some comedic relief for the day or if you just want to know what college life is like.
A guy donning a trademarked Jimmy Johns jersey sprinting across campus clutching a sub in his fist.
I had never actually seen a Jimmy Johns deliverer in person before I came to college, but now I see them everywhere. They're usually on bikes though which is why this sight made my day.
Losing my keys and ID card at the Career Fair.
I laugh about it now, but it was not very funny in the moment. I didn't even realize they were missing until my friend asked if I wanted to grab a smoothie. Thankfully I knew some very awesome professors and staff that helped get my keys and ID back to me. So, life lesson: do not leave your keys or ID card anywhere.
A cabinet, filled to the brim with explosives, labeled “Spicy Boi”.
Rocketry Club gets credit for this one. People think I joined because I'd get to build rockets, but really I'm in it for the memes.
Someone playing “Careless Whisper” on a saxophone outside of the dorms late one night.
Honestly, I thought I was hallucinating it at first until my roommate said she heard it too. Maybe we're both crazy.
Almost running into a tree because I saw a guy so handsome I couldn’t look away.
He was smiling down at his phone. I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for the cute smiles.
A random dude just casually holding a squirrel.
He was just chilling on the grass with a squirrel sitting in his hand. He noticed me frantically pointing in his direction and asked if I wanted to come and pet it, but I just laughed and walked away. The squirrels here terrify me.
A guy asked us to make sure no one steals his Wii.
This guy put his trust in me and my roommate to make sure his Wii wasn't taken while he left the lounge for a bit. The fact that I seem trustworthy enough to look after a Wii really made me reconsider my worth.
Almost getting hit by, not one, but two cars in the same morning.
Long story short, I was running late for my class and you know when a car slows down at a crosswalk and you think they're going to stop, but they don't? Yeah, I thought they were stopping. They weren't. I only got honked at once though.
