Summer vacation 2018 is already winding down, and before us students know it, classes will be back in session and we will once again find ourselves staring blankly at our computer screens, trying desperately to come up with the motivation to finish the assignment due the following day.
Once we graduate from college and enter "the real world," as all the obnoxious adults in our lives seem to call it, summer will not have the same spiritual quality that it does for students, as we all become mindless drones working dead-end jobs that none of us can stand. Soon, there will be no such thing as summer break, and the months of June and July will no longer be a time for us to relax and unwind from the pressures of a busy school year. Instead, they will just be two more regular months of the year, only with slightly hotter temperatures, depending on where you live of course.
So, I guess what I am trying to say is that it's all downhill from here. Life will probably never be as good again as it is right now for many of us, so we might as well make the most of it. Soon we will be studying again for exams and writing essay after essay, and then before we know it we will be graduates trying to finally answer the question of what we want to be when we grow up. After that, life will probably move pretty fast, or not. After all, I don't actually know anything about life. I'm just assuming it moves pretty fast after college.
What is the solution to the fact that the supposed best time in our lives is rapidly coming to an end? I do not know. The only potential solution that I can think of would be to build a time machine that would allow us to relive summer vacation time and time again, never having to go back to school, never having to graduate, and therefore never having to grow up. We would be stuck in the prime of our youth forever, having fun and not caring about anything.
Unfortunately, I looked into it and time machines are really hard to find these days. I found a few for sale on Craigslist but they were too expensive and I am not exactly sure how legitimate they were. You have to be careful when shopping for that sort of thing because there is unfortunately a lot of time machine fraud going on in today's day and age. It is a very unfortunate truth.
With no time machine readily available to us, we are forced to simply make the most of what we have left of summer vacation. We still have a few weeks to make sure to do everything that we wanted to do this summer, so we better start soon because time is running out. Make a final summer checklist of everything you wanted to accomplish, then check things off the list as you do them. Even if you think you let the entire summer go to waste so far, it is not too late to do something meaningful and worth remembering.
Remember, this summer is almost over, and for many college students summer breaks in general will soon be a thing of the past, a remnant of a sacred time in our lives where we did not have a care in the world. So, go out and do something with your summer vacation before the weight of the real world starts crumbling on top of you. Good luck.
