For all the 49ers fans with newfound hope going into next season, here are five things you should know about the new star quarterback:

1. His Early Career

Jimmy G was only a two-star recruit after high school and only received offers from Eastern Illinois, Illinois State and Montana State. In college at Eastern Illinois, Garoppolo completed 1,047 of 1,668 passes for 13,151 yards and 118 touchdowns. Senior year, he won the Walter Payton Award for being the most outstanding player in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision. His school was also home to Tony Romo, Sean Payton and Mike Shanahan.

2. The Difference the Transition Made

As second string to Tom Brady for the New England Patriots, he completed 690 yards over three seasons. As the 49ers starting man late last season, he more than doubled that number in one season with 1,560 passing yards with a 67.4 percent completion rate.

3. The Biggest Contract in NFL History

On February 8, Garoppolo landed the largest deal in NFL history with the 49ers. His five-year contract is worth $137.5 million. $48.7 million was guaranteed at signing and he will earn $61.2 million over the first two years, per Kevin Patra. A no-trade clause will be activated in 2021 - his fourth season with the Niners.

4. How He's Turning the Niners Around

Garoppolo has never lost an NFL start... ever. When he joined the Niners (who before the deal, looked like a high school team - and not a good one), Garoppolo carried them through the longest active regular-season winning streak in the NFL, going 5-0. That's why the Niners Faithful are actually starting to reap the benefits of their faith throughout the last couple of seasons.

5. Astonishing Stats

Jimmy G holds the fourth highest completion percentage with 67.3 percent over the last four years with a minimum 250 attempts. He is first with his 8.3 yards per attempt average and fifth in passer rating with 99.7, per NFL.com.

Bonus fact: This one goes without saying but I'm going to say it anyway... he's the best looking quarterback of all time.

Jimmy G... Niners fans everywhere can't wait to see what you do with the team next season. From morphing the group into an exciting spectacle and bringing them back into the competition to pushing previous subpar receivers to their full potential, Garoppolo is definitely worthy of his historic contract.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
