Say what you will about residence halls, but one thing we can all agree on is the memories made within those four walls. Going into college is a scary thing but within those concrete boxes, you were home.
They gave you the best memories you could have asked for with friends who will be in your life forever. The first time you went out during your welcome weekend and not knowing how to check in. Or eating pizza on the dirty old carpet with your girlfriends at 2 am. If only these walls could talk, I wonder what they would say.
These walls have seen you at your best and at your worst. They have seen you doing your makeup before a night out or wiping your tears the next morning over someone who broke your heart. They have heard secrets more than any priest, like who stole the fraternity composite at the last formal or who hooked up with who. They have seen more first kisses, belly laughs and fights to last a lifetime but yet, within just nine months...it's over. Those walls soon become bare and it's simply just four blank walls. They might seem dull and boring but they are more colorful then they look.
These rooms may just be for a short time but the memories you make within them, they are forever, and I think that says a lot for a crummy dorm now doesn't it?
