Summer Must Do's

The Summer "Pail" List

Over seven years ago, my sister made a list of all the things she wanted to do over that summer. We called it a pail list because a bucket was too large. That list hung on the side of our fridge for a few years before being completed, but the list stretched out to almost 30 different items that included out of state trips, meeting up with family members, and visiting locations that are summer must. That list back then was filled of fun and is the inspiration for my musts do’s this summer as I leave my first year of college.

1. Get a Job!

My first real job is a must this summer. Not only do I want some spending money for the summer but when I go back to school I know I’ll need it more

2. Reconnect with old friends

Seeing some of my greatest friends the first week being back and hopefully reconnecting with more throughout the summer

3. Travel

With a wedding in early June down in South Carolina and my sister staying in New Orleans I know this one is possible. But I hope for a trip that last a little longer and is a little further away

4. Get Fit

I’m not completely unhealthy but I want to get a healthier diet and workout a little.

5. Show off Rhode Island

My boyfriend is from Connecticut and I can’t wait to show him the Rhode Island novelties that include the items on the list I previously wrote about RI

6. Find a New Spot

I’ve seen a good deal of Rhode Island but I want to explore a little more and find the perfect unfound spot

7. Get Another Tattoo

I can’t help it, I’m kind of addicted!

8. Purge

I want to clean my room and get rid of most of the things I leave behind when I go off to school anyways! I like to hold on to things so it’s about time to get rid of the stuff that no longer matters

9. Build something that will last forever!

Like some awesome memories! Here’s to a great summer!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
