The Summer Of Divorces

2015: The opposite of summer love.

The Summer Of Divorces

While the summer is usually a time of blossoming relationships, this summer in particular has been plagued by the divorces of some of Hollywood's most famous couples. Not only have these divorces shaken up the social scene in Hollywood, but also have completely taken over most of the social media outlets. This summer, we should have been focusing on the fact that Jen Aniston finally married Justin Theroux or that Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris have essentially been this summer's hottest couple rather reading about these famous love stories gone wrong.

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton

After meeting Miranda while he was still with his previous wife at a 2006 CMT concert, no one thought this marriage would end. Four years into their marriage, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton have amicably decided to split. While the two seem to still be on good terms, there has not really been any clear indication as to why their marriage ended. Was it the separation from their hugely successful careers or was it from the couples love of a good time and a stiff drink as often shown by Blake's infamous drunken tweets?

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner

For many, this was the least shocking Hollywood split up of the summer after the months of media speculation that their marriage was coming to an end. After three children and 10 years of marriage, Boston's very own, Ben Affleck, and his every classy and tasteful wife, Jennifer Garner, have decided to call it quits. Although the two have been spotted together on vacation with their children after the announcement of their split, this divorce seems a little tense and messy after rumors that Ben had an affair with his children's nanny. While Ben continues to deny the rumors, as always there are three sides to every story. Whether the truth will actually come out is questionable, it appears that Jennifer Garner is not the Jen for Ben!

Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani

The news of the split of musicians Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani were for most, the most shocking of the summer. Although the pair have appeared madly in love and one of the most down to earth and normal couples of Hollywood, the couple has decided to split after 13 years of marriage. The couple, who has three sons together, have supposedly ended their relationship amicably and are seeking for joint custody of their children. The most interesting part about this divorce will be how the pair split up their wealth, as Gwen is supposedly worth $100 million and Gavin $35 million. Hopefully, this split does not turn messy, and they can remain amicable when the pair have to divide their assets.

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick

After nine years together, Kourtney decided to end her relationship with Scott. Although the pair were never actually married, they share three children together and their often tumultuous relationship has been displayed on the Kardashian's hit show on E! Scott's troubled behavior and inner demons have definitely recently taken a huge toll on his relationship with Kourtney. The couple has had their issues and have broken up a few times in the past, but this time it appears that Kourtney has truly had enough. Hopefully this breakup is exactly what he needs in order to motivate him to get his act together for his children and relationship with Kourtney.

Although relationship news has been very depressing this summer, I'm hopeful that this fall will spark new love interests between our favorite celebrities.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
