The Santana-Soto Sisters

We are sisters; we stand together!

Mom and Dad

As some of you may know, I am the youngest of three sisters. Being the youngest has a lot of perks if I am sincere. I hope that when I have children of my own, they take care of each other like my sisters and I do. Whenever I have a bad day or an embarrassing moment they are there to make me feel better. I always want to call my sisters up and let them know what happened. We are triplets!! We do everything together, and we love each other as well. We always have our days to do our chores to pay breakfast for each other. We value each other.

Sisterhood for my sisters and me is when one is down; we pick each other up. We have rules for our sisterhood, but they are a secret; however, only the sisters know the rules. If one has a problem we all have the problem.

I LOVE MY SISTERS TO DEATH because if my sisters have a problem or something is not going right; I will put my neck and life on the line for them.

WE ARE STRONG INDEPENDENT WOMEN, and when we were born and raised, we were introduced to do what we pleased. Open-minded parents taught us, and they are a blessing for us.

We are all in love with life and what it has to offer. I love going to the park and working out with them. My sisters are so intelligent and brave. When I was younger, and now I always wanted to be like them.

Like them because they are hardworking, beautiful, and talented. I remember that we attended high school together. In high school, each one of us played instruments, but we all were in the chorus. We used to sing and rehearse songs at home. We had a band named S sisters, and we used to perform in talent shows and play sports together.

We always defended each other when a bully came to bother us, and it was three against one. We never beat people up. We just spoke to them to stop acting up. We always use our voices because you need to speak up. If you don't defend yourself in this world, who will protect you? My sisters always give me good advice; they always tell me what's right from wrong. They always make me laugh and we can dance around all the time. My sisters always provide me with guidance, peace, love, attention, protection, and discipline. They still have the best advice when I am on the other side of the phone. When I feel lost or confused, my sisters are always there, making me feel better.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
