The Reality Of Having Two Jobs

No, I'm not "rolling in dough."

Life is crazy and I think that is something we can all agree on. I know I am probably preaching to the choir when I say that it can be hard and hectic trying to balance a social life, family, and work. I’m sure your friends understand that you are a busy adult working 30+ hours a week and that it is tricky to find times to hang out. But what happens when you have two jobs? I have friends who work two jobs and get about 60+ hours between the both, yet they still have time to hang out with friends and family. That seems impossible but after getting a second job, the reality is that making plans around 60+ hours a week isn’t impossible after all. At least, it doesn’t have to be.

So, like I said, I work many hours a week. I thought I would never see my friends or family but again but it is more manageable than you would think. I work at a grocery store 4 days a week and I am a waitress on the other days. I can pick up hours that work around my schedule so it is manageable. Luckily for me, I wear the same pants and shoes to each job so it makes it easier when I must work at both locations back to back. However, I am not "rolling in dough". People say that the more you make the more you spend and they’re right. I make good money but of course I “treat myself” to stuff I like because since I make more money, I guess I should blow it all in one place. The truth is, I am liking spending money on myself without feeling guilty. Being a waitress, I enjoy making cash tips that I can walk away with each night. I enjoy keeping myself busy throughout the week and it just makes it so much better when I do get the chance to spend time with my friends and family.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
