The Galaxy Far, Far Away In Our Galaxy's Terms

Yes, I just related 'Star Wars' to real life.

In honor of the new movie in four days, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, I decided to write a nice recap and application to real life of my favorite quotes from the first six movies. Fingers crossed that Disney keeps on the same track as Lucas Films with the new movie or my childhood might be ruined quite instantaneously while sitting in that movie theater. Don't worry, I've had my ticket for about a month and a half now.

1. "It’s a trap," as said by Admiral Ackbar in Return of the Jedi.

Relationships are a trap. Money is a trap. Boys are a trap. Credit cards are a trap. Still get involved with each thing, but admitting to yourself that it's a trap beforehand may save you a lot of pain and suffering after.

2. "If there’s a bright center to the universe, you’re on the planet farthest from it," as said by Luke Skywalker in A New Hope.

This one goes out to all of the teachers and professors in the world that don’t bump your grade up when you’re at a 89.4 percent or something along those lines. You're the scum of the Earth, and probably live on Pluto.

3. "When 900 years old, you reach…Look as good, you will not," as said by Yoda in Return of the Jedi.

Once a bad b*tch, always a bad b*tch. And the sass that master Yoda uses from Episode I doesn't ever leave him. Embrace the sassier side of yourself, because it's what people will remember you by.

4. "When I left you, I was but the learner; now I am the master," as said by Darth Vader in A New Hope.

Reuniting with family, or friends, after a couple of months or years of not seeing each other. This is the time that you get to prove how successful you’ve actually become despite them thinking you were the runt of the litter, aka the huge, successful family.

5. "Your eyes can deceive you; don’t trust them," as said by Obiwon Kenobi in A New Hope.

Another boy/girl reference. Just because they are attractive doesn't mean they are the best choice. Don't rely on looks to get them far in life because chances are they don't even understand basic concepts about science or math. Sorry exes. And make sure they keep you entertained, because a relationship based solely on 'Netflix and chill' or just being on your phones in the same room is not worth it.

6. "There’s good in him. I’ve felt it," as said by Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi.

Your friends or parents see the douche-bag boy before your radar actually wants to admit that they were right all along. But he has such nice hair and bright eyes to stare into!

7. "Only a sith deals in absolutes," as said by Obi-wan Kenobi in Revenge of the Sith.

See, math really is evil. Absolutes are only dealt with by the liars and devils of the universe.

8. "I recognized your foul stench when I was brought on board," as said by Princess Leia in A New Hope.

Use this line for those who still don’t wear deodorant. It’s just repulsive at this age now.

9. "One thing's for sure, we're all going to be a lot thinner," as said by Han solo in A New Hope.

After being on a really bad workout routine and finally getting yourself to the gym for the most painful workout you could ever imagine. One crunch and where are my abs??

10. "Hello. I don't believe we have been introduced. R2-D2? A pleasure to meet you. I am C-3PO, Human-Cyborg Relations," as said by C-3P0 in The Phantom Menace.

Going to the bars this weekend? Try the perfect pick-up line, since it started the most beautiful and bipolar relationship in the galaxy far, far away.

11. "Will someone get this big, walking carpet out of my way," as said by Princess Leia in A New Hope.

How we all feel walking through the hallways at school or even at the mall. Walking slow? Can you like put a sign on yourself saying 'pass me' or something to make it easier to identify you? Thanks. Also, you could take a shower while you're at it.

12. "No, I am your father," as said by Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back.

Say it to that math test you just aced. Or your new dog. Or that killer sandwich you just made. Use it whenever really, because it's one of the most well known quotes from the movie industry.

13. "Do or do not; there is not try," as said by Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back.

In my opinion, this is one of the most relevant. Live by this. Apply yourself fully in any situation you’re put into to prove to those around you that you don't believe in half efforts. Those half efforts make you and your parents look bad.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
