The Project

they describe their most recent album as a "project" and I think that's brilliant and all the more personal. they're invested- not seeking fame and glory, but rather scoping strategies and investing time to make tasteful and surreal epiphanies for all. their music is becoming an all-encompassing experience for many and, quite literally, changing people's perception of multiple-genre music.

The average joe's

two guys, Harrison and Clay, at one time just making music in their college dorm rooms, now making historical and culturally impactful music; an immersive journey that is capable of captivating, intriguing and luring in for more. anyone can do anything great.

The perspective

this album is "... about taking a step away from all the noise and things that maybe weigh you down in life." and for that perspective and purpose in making their music, i thank them. life is about taking a step back sometimes, or maybe a few steps back; gaining perspective and enlightening oneself. the fact that music has the power to usher one into that state has always blown my mind.

The Show

i had the privilege of seeing Odesza perform their album live with my best friend in Chicago, Illinois.

and I did see a full spectrum of something

surreal. the lights, the strategic movement and transitions of the songs themselves- it wasn't just one kind of sound or one kind of visual, as they put it.

and I've always loved music- been infatuated with it, even. but with Odesza, you are engulfed with strategy, raw talent and a plethora of sounds varying from strings and trumpets to electronic and vocal presentations.

all encompassing.

My top songs:

Boy

Late Night

Bloom - Live

IPlayYouListen - Live

Light - Instrumental

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
