5 Of The Best Six Flags Over Georgia Rides

I was so afraid of roller coasters before going to Six Flags, but I'm glad I didn't back out of going on them.

My friend, Meghna, had to convince me to go have fun on the roller coasters because I was terrified of them. The only roller coasters I've beenen on before coming to Six Flags were the ones at Universal, and they were nowhere as extreme and intense as the ones at Six Flags. Unlike Universal, the roller coasters at Six Flags Over Georgia are much more intense and go higher with many loops and inversions weaved in them. But now I'm glad I braved up and went on them because it was an amazing experience for me, albeit a bit terrifying at first.

1. Superman: Ultimate Flight

At the first look of this extremely creative roller coaster, I was terrified. I wanted to refuse to go, but I felt I would miss out on a potentially amazing experience. And I was not wrong. This roller coaster is, in my opinion, the best roller coaster in Six Flags Over GA. It was unlike any other ride and it really did make me feel like I was flying. Instead of the typical style of roller coasters, this coaster has you sit in a flat position instead of the usual sitting one. Imagine the stance of a flying Superman. That is the position you are strapped in so that you get the real feel of flying. It was terrifying at first but I soon came to enjoy how amazing it felt to "fly" across the skies. It's definitely worth going on.

2. Mindbender

This ride was also amazing. Next to the Superman ride, this is definitely my second favorite ride. The thrill of it made me let go of my slowly fading fear of heights and just made me feel free. It's unarguably worth to go on. I loved it so much I went on it twice. The speed of the ride honestly did bend my mind and left me me feeling a bit dizzy and lightheaded. Still, it was pretty incredible to go on.

3. Blue Hawk

While I felt like I was going to throw up before getting on it, I am happy that I tried it. While it was undoubtedly frighting at first, the feeling soon faded away to be replaced with fierce exhilaration. The intensity and momentum of it was amazing and it made me feel like I was floating at certain points.

4. The Great American Scream Machine

The Scream Machine, though a bit uncomfortable, was still an awesome roller coaster. On the outside it looks a bit simple, but it was intense once you get on it. Due to it being a wooden roller coaster, it was extremely bumpy, which made the experience a bit uncomfortable. But it gave me a taste of what the Goliath ride is like. Overall, it was fun experience which left me with a slightly sore neck and a dizzy head.

5. Goliath

The moment I saw the Goliath looming over the entrance, I told myself I would never in a million years get on that monster. It frightened me to my core and literally sent chills down my spine. But eventually, after getting on all other roller coasters, it didn't seem as daunting as before. Still, when I sat in in, I was convinced I was going to die by accidentally falling out the roller coaster. Thankfully, I didn't. It was a pretty amazing experience though. The Scream Machine was similar to it but it went nowhere near as high as the Goliath. This ride helped me with my fear of heights, too, and it was amazingly exhilarating. I will definitely go on it again.

The overall experience was pretty phenomenal and I am definitely going to Six Flags again. It greatly helped me with my fear of heights and I had a great time.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
