We've all been listening to "This Town" and "Slow Hands" on repeat for the past few months in anticipation for Niall Horan's first solo album, "Flicker," and on October 20th, we finally got to listen to the album we've all been waiting for. It's no surprise that Niall exceeds expectations in his debut record because each track is filled with emotions and meaningful lyrics. Below are 12 of the lyrics that really stood out to me:

1. "If the whole world was watching, I'd still dance with you"

From "This Town"

2. "You smile back at me and your face lit up the sun"

From "Too Much to Ask"

3. "So turn your head and let us go, I'll learn to breathe on my own"

From "Paper Houses"

4. "Why do we climb to fall so far?"

From "Paper Houses"

5. "Since we're alone, show me all that you are"

From "Since We're Alone"

6. "And if you get lost in the light, it's okay, I can see in the dark"

From "Since We're Alone"

7. "I love you best when you're just yourself"

From "Since We're Alone"

8. "You might be lost but I won't be losing you"

From "Fire Away"

9. "And I will steady your hand when you're losing your grip"

From "Fire Away"

10. "As he walks away, she slowly breaks a smile, the skies are blue, haven't been for awhile"

From "Mirrors"

11. "When I look down the line at the man I wanna be, I've always known from the start that it ends with you and me"

From "You and Me"

12. "Time has never been on our side, so would you wait for me?"

From "You and Me"

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating.
