The Bend in the Break

Original poetry by Eliza Mae (Prophecy Canvas) on redeeming relational bonds & acclamation past false adopted beliefs.

The Bend in the Break

You get what you give,

You earn what you keep.

We're of law from

the same discipline

Allow your troubles to sleep.

Rest your mellowed,

weary head

Stiff standing

forcibly straight.

Let your tender muscles

redeem themselves

For bread never rises late.

Life force,

your butter

Cut aloof by the limb

False hopes

to stay in tact better

With accountability on a whim.

I'll apologize for

fear over love

But not ever more

than my share

Seeking origins of authenticity

A gate to preserve compassion fair.

Let game player

strategize his steps

Wheels of the psyche a circus

Struck in hypnosis

of repetition

The cycle of fourths.

I've grown conscious of the cage

The Berlin Wall saved

no human thriving state

Trapped dependence is a vixen

Of questionable blood to gauge.

Don't rush

before you walk,

You may trip on your steps

Too fast for loose shoelaces

Too slow to second guess.

Bring me your inconsolances

For I will listen with intent

Whatever fire roars inside us

There's oxygen to circumvent.

Allow your emotions a listen

Present tense breath gives,

commitment loosens grip

Unconditional presence settles in

These lungs are allowed to expand.
