Dear all Police Officers,
I am aware you have families and friends. I am aware every day you go into work you know of the risks you're taking to ensure people's safety and to ensure that the law is followed. What's happening now is devastating and there is no way to bring all those who have left way too soon back. I can't imagine what this is like for you - and yet you're still coming into work to protect us.
Well, to all the police officers out there - even possibly reading this - thank you so much for everything that you do. I wish violence didn't exist in the world and I wish I could say things are going to get better. But the news is currently on as I watch this and I know this isn't going to be something that is solved in 24 hours. I'm not afraid though to stand up and say thank you for everything you do and have done. Thank you for risking your life everyday to protect us - your families, your neighbors, friends, and even complete strangers. You've saved and continue to save and impact so many lives and the officers that have lost their lives will be remembered. My condolences go out to them, their families, and all the police departments because you surely must feel the impact when a officer dies even if that officer is part of a different department.
"Love is love is love is love" and that goes for everyone - police officers definitely being included. All lives matter and what we need now more than ever is to be spreading love not hate. There is so much hatred in the world nowadays that at times it seems we've lost the point of life but even through those rough times the police are here to protect us. You make us feel safe and help us to see hope, so I think I speak for a lot of people when I say thank you for your service and all that you do.
