Austin Trail of Lights

With December around the corner (finally!!), everyone's switching into full on Christmas mode. That means all of the best Christmas movies, music, and destinations are coming back. Here are some of my personal favorite places around Texas that get you into the Christmas spirit if you aren't already!

1. Santa's Wonderland - College Station, Texas

November 10 - January 7

What better way to celebrate Christmas than under beautiful lights in College Station! Santa's Wonderland offers hayrides, carriage rides, live music, and even meet and greets with Santa himself. Perfect for people of all ages, this is one stop that tops them all!

2. ICE! at Gaylord Texan - Grapevine, Texas

November 10 - January 1

This year, walk through the stop "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" recreated in 2 million pounds if ice. All in chilly 9°F, the Gaylord offers a fun twist on this classic Christmas story. Great for families and large groups, the Gaylord Texan offers something for anyone.

3. Dallas Arboretum 12 Day of Christmas at Night - Dallas, Texas

November 4 - January 7

See the Dallas Botanical Gardens in holiday splendor by walking through the gardens illuminated at night. You won't want to miss the eye catching display of enclosed gazebos with the 12 Days of Christmas recreated inside.

4. Zoo Lights - Houston, Texas

November 18 - January 14

Enjoy the Houston Zoo at night and lit up in Christmas lights. Explore the exhibits with your family and enjoy Christmas at the Zoo.

5. Austin Trail of Lights - Austin, Texas

December 9 - 23, 2017

Visit Austin’s largest holiday tradition and 2nd largest event in the city and celebrate Christmas at the same time. This event brings together the Austin community while celebrating Christmas with your family

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
