10 Things Everyone Should Have On Their Bucket List

Guess what I did?

I started a bucket list about six months ago. My mom got me this cute little notebook to write everything in, and my dad just made fun of the fact that I'm 19 with a bucket list.

I would stay up and just write in that book for hours. I had about 100 things written down at the end of the first week. There are so many things I have yet to do. So many things I want to see, and people I want to meet. Getting to put a line through something I have done is so fulfilling. If you don't have a bucket list, I think you should get one. It'll help you live for the day. I recommend trying to accomplish one thing every day. It'll just make life a little bit more enjoyable.

Here are ten things you should have on your bucket list:

1. Antique bowling

If you haven't heard of this before, I'm sad for you. This is probably the stupidest yet most fun game to ever be created. To play this you go to a thrift store and buy old cups and plates and vases, and put them on your driveway and then bowl!

2. Sky diving

I have personally not been sky diving nor do I want to go, but it's on my list anyway. I think that the rush of it would be unforgettable, and it's something I feel like most people should experience.

3. Visit your dream country

This one might take some planning, but it would be so worth it. Imagine seeing the Pyramids, or the Eiffel Tower, or Big Ben. All of these iconic things, and you could be seeing them. My advice for you is to put $5 in a jar every Tuesday. This will eventually add up, and you can finally go on the vacation of your dreams.

4. Scuba diving

How cool does that sound?! I've only been snorkeling, but even that was amazing. I saw squid and sea turtles and so many beautiful fish, but I think it would be even more amazing to be able to dive down and just be with them. Just look out for sharks.

5. Name a star

How cool would that be to be able to say, "oh yeah, that one's my star". Like you would own a little piece of space. That's the next one I'm crossing off my bucket list.

6. Run in a 5k

So some of you might say, just a 5k? But listen, some of us just aren't runners. I wish I could be, but I'm just not. I'm a napper. A 5k would be a great accomplishment for people like me.

7. Work as a *insert dream job here*

Life is too short to do something you hate. I would much rather love what I do and make no money, then do something I hate and be rich, but maybe that's just me.

8. Cliff Jumping

How terrifying does it sound to just jump off of a cliff!? It sounds like such a good story to tell people! Like, "guess what I did?".

9. See the northern lights

Everyone wants to see the northern lights. I imagine them being something like brother bear when he changes from human to bear and back again, but I know I won't change species or anything, sad.

10. Die happy

This one is so important to me. What is the point of living if you aren't happy? You have to go out and find your own happiness and savor it. Find happiness in all the little things, and never let them go. Being able to look back on my life and genuinely be proud of what I've accomplished and everything I've done just seems like a prize at the end of it all.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
