Television has truly changed in the most recent years, as ways to watch TV have changed. The pressure is due to popular platforms, such as Netflix and Hulu. So television is having a bit of a decline in general, but the people who are still watching TV are the ones that the networks need to still keep in mind when they are advertising. Television is still pretty relevant when it comes to those who are still cable subscribers, as there are still other parts of the older generation like our grandparents and even some parents that have actual television as their main preference.
For me, I like to experience certain shows LIVE so like the Bachelor/Bachelorette and award shows (Grammys anyone). So that's where I also see television revenues are the highest is when the show is a popular one with most audiences as it does get the media and advertising attention from the sources it needs. Although that is not always the case, I think that this is true and the possible solutions to this to take off the pressure would be to keep up to date with the latest trends and being resourceful when it comes to the TV network pitching ideas for shows. That way the money would be able to come and go more frequently but it could also be used to do good.
Television is still impacting the world today and the future is not so clear as to where television is headed. So only time will truly tell as to where the path is going. Cable TV may not be as big as it was before, but it is still going to exist for those that still subscribe, it just means that technology is going to keep evolving as well which there is no way to get around that!
