It all started in 2006, when "Our Song," "Tim McGraw," and "Teardrops on My Guitar" were all released. Taylor Swift has been continuing to capture the attention of the media, engage her fans, never disappointing. I was 10 years old when her first album was released. She filled my middle school days with music and continued to release albums throughout my four years in high school. While I knew every lyric to every song, I don't think I realized how relatable her songs really were. Taylor Swift, you were right about everything!
1. "All Too Well"
Taylor Swift was right about breakups. She was right about heartbreaks and heart aches. She was right about the difficulty of forgetting and the curse of remembering.
2. "Mean"
Taylor Swift was right about those people that were not nice. To the middle school girls, the mean boys on the school bus, or the rude upperclassmen. They all weren't worth your time or tears.
3. "The Best Day"
Taylor Swift was right about this mother's dedication song. Our mom is our best friend forever. While, middle school and high school may have brought many arguments or fights, deep down she is always on your team. She is the most influential person in your life and every day is a good day when it is spent with her.
4. "Never Grow Up"
Taylor Swift was right when she performed this song about growing up and watching the ones we love age. Looking back on this song as a college student, you realize how "Never Growing Up" seems like a pretty good idea.
5. "You're Not Sorry"
Taylor Swift was right when she released this song about apologies and the lack of them. It's a reality check that girls need to hear. Rather than letting people who our not worth our time walk on top of us, it is best to just let them go.
6. Fearless
Taylor Swift was right when she sang about dates and love and relationships. She explains that "On-top-of-the-world" feeling when you are with someone you love.
7. "Red"
Taylor Swift was SO right about missing someone. How sometimes loving someone and missing someone feels the same way because you weren't meant to love that person. While you may want someone, it may not be someone that you need. Sometimes, we give people who deserve the least of our thoughts the most time in our minds.
8. "We Are Never Getting Back Together"
Taylor Swift was right about breakups. Middle School me used to think this was just a catchy song, but now I realize it is so much more. This is an anthem that sometimes needs to be blasted loud enough for your entire town to hear. It is a constant reminder to girls everywhere.
9. "I Knew You Were Trouble"
Taylor Swift was right about boys. This song may have a great beat and chorus, but it has a great meaning. Girls tend to fall for people who aren't the best for them. Every college girl can probably relate this song to at least one person.
So may Taylor Swift lyrics continue to get more accurate with age.
