A Tale Of Two Identities Part 4

One bullet grazed the top of my left arm as I swam to the other island. As I climbed ashore I had to hold my arm because of how much it was bleeding and frankly because it hurt. Once I was up on the shore, I quickly walked into the town in search of a doctor. Luckily for me, the doctor was right on the edge of the town. As I walked in the door I stumbled but was caught by a cute young boy. "Oh uh thank you. For catching me I mean." I said "No problem ma'am. I'm Killian and what might your name be?" He asked me. "I'm Emerald. Can you maybe help me I seem to have gotten hit by something."

"Sure come sit down." Killian said as he carried me over to the counter and set me down. While he wrapped my arm up I winced because of the pain, but when he was done it felt much better. "I've never met someone as pretty as you." He said when he was done with my arm. "I was wondering if maybe well we maybe." "Just kiss me and stop mumbling." I said. "Okay, my jewel as you wish." He said as he kissed me. As we went into the backroom to finish checking my arm, I heard the door open. I then heard the sound, that sound, the most unappealing sound, of boots, boots that belonged to Black. "Killian, wait." I said putting my hand on his chest to stop his movement.

"What's wrong Emerald?" "Just trust me. We need to go! I didn't actually get hit by just anything, it was by a bullet from the man who just walked into this shop. He's trying to kidnap me for something that I know So we need to go now!" "Okay." He said as I grabbed his hand and ran to the back of the shop and hit the lantern on the wall. Just then a secret door opened. I pulled him inside and shut the door just before Black could follow us. Thank you, Mr. Smith, for your lantern stories. "Where are we going and who was that?" Killian said as I pulled him down a tunnel into an area with a pool that lead out to the ocean.

As we came to a stop I fell to the ground and hugged my knees and started crying. "I … I'm sorry I dragged you into this." "It's okay but who was that and why is he trying to kidnap you?" he said as he sat down on the ground next to me. "That's Captain Black he's after me because I'm the daughter of a pirate and a mermaid. I've grown up with my uncle, Captain Hawk. I can change myself and others who I choose into mermaids. Black wants to use my power for his own personal use to steal and possibly worse things. If he catches me I'll be tortured for the rest of my life. I need your help to get away from him and get back to my uncle." I said

"Okay, I'll help you on one condition." Killian said "Okay Mr. Charming what's this condition?" I said "Take me with you, I'm tired of being a doctor's assistant." "Okay Charming, take my hand." I said as I stepped into the water and held my necklace in one hand and Killian's hand on the other. Once he stepped into the water, I drew the pattern in front of his face and said, "Open your eyes." "Oh my gosh, why do I have a tail?" Killian said as he stared down at his new tail in shock "Calm down, you want me to take you with me, well I had to do this to keep you from being killed." I said

"Okay, whatever you say Princess." "Come on let's leave before Black finds us. There are many tunnels that lead to this pool." I said swimming toward the hole that leads out to the ocean. "Lead the way." Killian said as he followed me through the tunnel and into the ocean. As we swam away from the island Killian called home, I couldn't help looking behind us to see if we were being followed.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
