Everyone is at fault for doing it and everyone is to blame for the reasons that celebrities hide from the paparazzi. You can flip through almost any magazine while in line at the grocery store and notice one section that proves celebrities are just like us.
It’s true. Celebrities go grocery shopping in their sweatpants, they walk out their front door without make up and they even pump their own gas. Whether we like it or not they remember the time before they were famous and they might be trying to hang on to it except we take that away from them.
I would be lying if I said I wouldn’t rush over to one of my favorite actors and singers for an autograph but at the same time I think I would be polite enough to know if it was the right time or not. I’m sure they enjoy getting recognized but not bombarded by fans. We’ve heard of the celebrities who go back to their hometowns, maybe even their high schools because in some way, shape or form they are exactly like us.
The only difference is that their paycheck is a lot more, they have become famous through hard work in their industry and people practically stalk them for the latest story.
For example, break ups are the worst. We all hate them. We sit ourselves down in front of the TV with a bowl of ice cream and sit in self pity until one day we have the confidence to put together a nice outfit and get back out there. Celebrities don’t have that chance. They break up with their significant other and it’s all over the news, in the magazines or on social media. The rumors spread, hateful things are said and people wonder how the ex-couple will react around each other in the coming weeks or even months.
I even got caught up in this recently when I found out that one of my all time favorite couples, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris, broke up. I texted my friends saying “a new album must be coming soon” which looking back was an awful thing to say as a fan of T-Swift. Yes, she writes amazing and relatable break up songs but I should have been more supportive. Especially when I heard that Calvin Harris just didn’t feel the chemistry anymore. His loss because Taylor is amazing.
Maybe we pay to much attention to the lives of celebrities and their problems that we forget about our own. Recently there have been conflict with former Disney start Zac Efron. People are not criticizing him because he broke up with Sami Miro but instead because he had mention that he doesn't like being known as the guy from High School Musical in an interview with Men's Fitness. Many fans and critics will say HSM is what brought him fame. Zac Efron has been my crush since I saw “The Derby Stallion”, before his High School Musical days. I understand that he wants to move on from his Disney days but I don't think anyone sees him as just a basketball player anymore, especially with Neighbors 2 that just came out and Baywatch coming soon. No one else is walking in his footsteps so they shouldn't judge his accomplishments, regrets, or choices in style or relationships.
We would all hate for everyone to be all up in our business about relationships and/or life choices whether they are going well or terrible. You should base things off of what you want and not the general population.
Next time you are concerned about the relationships and happenings of Hollywood, take a step back from the headlines and realize that celebrities are just like us in their own way. They have struggles and emotions but they also have fame. They are human. Most of us don’t know what fame would be like so we should put ourselves in their shoes when things are said about them in the news good or bad.
